The Workshop Team Osamu "Sam" Tagaya Sam has spent many years in the investment banking business, primarily with Salomon Brothers, now part of Citigroup. He worked in New York, Tokyo, San Francisco and London during that time and amassed extensive experience in the field of private placements and structured finance. Since returning to San Francisco in 2000, and heading ACN since 2002, he has helped numerous early-stage companies during their launch phase as well as invest in a select few.
Frank Gow Frank comes from Glasgow in Scotland and has many years of investment experience, beginning with 3i through Scottish Development Finance and International Angel Investors. Of his top seven investments, three went public and four were acquired, one by Cisco Systems, another by Matsushista, yet another by Shiva and the last by SKF the bearings people! Frank is sometimes known as the "Father of Dolly" the world's first cloned animal!
Bill Hesley Bill is a frequent speaker at workshops for technology entrepreneurs on startup and funding related issues. He reviews and critiques10-15 technology funding pitches a month. As a Partner in Board of CEOs, he helps top executives make better business decisions in on-going monthly meetings. Lunch Guest Speaker: Bill Southard, CEO DST Controls After West Point and the US Army Special Forces, Bill got a BS in electrical engineering and began learning about computers and industry in New Jersey. He moved to the left coast in 1975 to start Dusouth Industries, a service company aimed at automating industrial processes. Since then he has started or had a hand in starting 5 companies – some winners, some losers, but all lots of fun. He lives in Benicia with his wife, Elisa, his dog Fargo, and his cockatoo, Tory.
