About Redlight Traffic
Redlight Traffic began as a community project, led by a
small group of diverse leaders who came together through an advanced leadership training course from Leadership
Eastside, based out of Redmond, WA. As part of their learning experience, they took on the project of researching the local and global state of human trafficking. Their
findings led one member to come up with the idea of using technology to end
trafficking, by increasing tips for law enforcement and providing ways for everyone to help.
In May of 2013, the Seattle Kiwanis Memorial Fund (SKMF*) gave the initial grant
to turn one man's idea into reality. In addition, SKMF offered continuous
support as Redlight Traffic developed its own organization, and Redlight
Traffic became a program of the Seattle Kiwanis Memorial Fund.
*SKMF is the giving arm of the Kiwanis Club of Downtown Seattle and a 501(c)(3)
non-profit established in 1947.
