Comedy Rocks the Komedia – charity as a laughing matter!
Brighton’s legendary comedy venue, Komedia, will on the 15th of March be home to ‘Comedy Rocks’, an event arranged by local charity Our Sansar to raise money to open and run a much needed home for street children in Nepal.
Five brilliant comedians will grace the stage including Our Sansar’s patron, Alexis Dubus (Marcel Lucont), who with concise comedic comment observes what it is to be French. He will be joined by Sara Pascoe, voted a ‘rising star of comedy’ by Time Out and Matthew Crosby, whose show at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival received excellent reviews. To help you get your laughing gear even further into action will be Angela Barnes, winner of the BBC New Comedy Award 2011 and Romesh Ranganathan whose dry wit may well leave you dehydrated! Skillfully guiding you from laugh to laugh will be compere Neil Frost.
Our Sansar works in Chitwan, Nepal where there are around 200 children living on the streets. There is currently no provision of food or shelter for these street children but with your help this is about to change.
Doors open at 18:30 with proceedings kicking off at 19:30. The show ends at 22:30 and it’s lights out at 23:00. Tickets are £15 before the event or £20 on the door. Ages 16+. |
