About the
Presenter
This course will be taught by Kim John Payne, author of the
international bestselling book Simplicity Parenting. Kim has been
a school counselor, adult educator, consultant, researcher, educator and a
private family counselor for over 27 years. He regularly gives keynote
addresses at international conferences for educators, parents, and therapists
and runs workshops and trainings around the world. In each role, he has been
helping children, adolescents and families explore issues such as social
difficulties with siblings and classmates, attention and behavioral issues at
home and at school, emotional issues such as defiance, aggression, addiction
and self-esteem and the vital role living a balanced simple life brings. He has appeared frequently on television including ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox;
on radio with the BBC, Sirius/XM, CBC & NPR and in print including
being featured in Time Magazine, Chicago Tribune, Parenting, Mothering,
Times Union and the LA Times.
About the
format
This course will be offered online for 8 weeks starting
Tuesday, January 22nd, 2013 from 10am-11:15am Pacific Time,
1pm-2:15pm Eastern Time, each week (go to http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock
to find the correct time in your area). The first week will be about 1 hour
long but then in subsequent weeks, Kim will spend 15 minutes or so at the
beginning of each class to answer questions from the week before- so sessions
will be around 1 hour 15 minutes. Because of Kim's travel schedule, there will
be two weeks where we will not have class (Feb 19 & Mar 19).
The full
dates for this course are:
January 22, 29. February 5, 12, 26. March 5, 12, 26.
You will be able to see and hear the presenter, view the
presentation slides and type questions and comments in the Chat Box.
Recordings
For those who are unable to view the presentation live, a
link to view the presentation recording will be emailed to you each week for
viewing at your convenience. We will keep these links "live" for
one month after each class. The recordings are only allowed to be viewed by
the person enrolled in the course.
If you would like to have unlimited access to the course content after one month, the "home study" version of the course will be made available to live course participants for the discounted rate of $29.
Technical
Requirements
The software we use for these webinars is very easy to use
and requires no special knowledge or downloading. It is highly recommended,
however, that you use a high-speed internet connection and that your computer
is plugged in to the modem or router (NOT wireless). Most of the problems that
occur with viewing the live class or the recording are because people are using
wireless internet. Please make every effort to use a wired connection.
Cost
The cost for this 8-week online course is $159 USD. Payments
are made through the secure Paypal payment system. If you have a Paypal
account, you will simply log on to the system when prompted and make your
payment. If you do not have a Paypal account, all you need to do is look for
the "Check out as Guest" link below the username and password fields
and you will be able to pay securely with any major credit card or eCheck.
