The concept for what would become The Haunted Cottage has been years in the making. It was been a dream of its curator Vince Wilson and many of colleagues in the field of paranormal research to establish a training facility. A place for the curious that would offer the best possible resources to anyone interested in doing paranormal investigations and research.

The Haunted Cottage (aka the Booth House) is a fully functional paranormal training facility. We not only conduct paranormal investigations here at the property, but also train new paranormal researchers and investigate other properties and locations as well. It helps that the house is haunted!

According to local legends, The Haunted Cottage is the most paranormally active location in all of Harpers Ferry! Tales of ghostly apparitions, shadowy figures and poltergeist-type activity permeate the history of this property…

Objects being thrown and shadowy apparitions have been reported in the nearly 200 year-old Booth House. Otherwise known as The Haunted Cottage, this infamous property has had its share of horrors! Abused and suffering slaves lived in squalor in a small crawl space above the home’s living quarters.

Stories tell of moaning coming from the slave quarters. Feelings of dread have overwhelmed the few daring enough to go into the foreboding area! Strange glowing lights have been reported emanating between the cracks of the boarded windows outside.
