| About the Dwight M. Bullard Leadership Initiative
State Representative Dwight M. Bullard is partnering with the Florida Association of Nonprofit Organizations, Inc. (FANO) in order to bring FANO's Certificate in Nonprofit Management to the South Dade community. This partnership will offer 14 nonprofit organizations, with programs serving the South Dade community, a partial to full scholarship to receive the CNM training, as well as a multitude of extra benefits such as one year of FANO membership.
This program will help expand on many of the goals that Rep. Bullard has for his district, as well as the South Dade community, by providing much needed capacity-building training to the nonprofits who address many issues and needs of the citizens within this community. It has come to our attention that there will be large budget cuts, 30% on average, to the county-funded programs of community-based organizations within the South Dade community. We feel that providing this valuable training will assist organizations with counteracting the impact and effects of these cuts by increasing their capacity and maximizing their efficiency, as well as improving their chances of securing alternative funding.
We strongly urge you to review the attached registration and scholarship application forms and decide whether or not your organization can commit to completing the course. Classes are scheduled to begin on November 13th, 2009 and end March 12, 2010. Scholarship applications are due in my office or via e-mail to members.fano@gmail.com before 4pm on November 9, 2009. Should you have any questions, feel free to contact my Legislative Aide Venusmia Lovely at 305.234.2209 or FANO at 305.557.1764.
