On Saturday, September 25th, from 1-4pm, we will be hosting The Second Annual TomatoBash tasting event at the Picchetti Winery in Cupertino. Come and enjoy variety of delicious, carefully selected Heirloom Tomatoes. We will have over 40 varieties available for tasting, picked from select, local organic farms. From Jersey Devils through Green Zebras and Cherokee Purples, you will enjoy the diversity, color display and rich, complex flavors! Complementing the tomatoes will be samplings of gourmet dishes prepared by a local chef with recipes to take home. Finger food will be also served to complement the tomatoes and cleanse the palate (including exquisite olive oils and barrel aged vinegars from a local producer). Wine and non alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase from the winery. Complementing the festivities will be music graciously donated by The Ed Masuga Band - a local Folk Blues band!
Additionally, there will be talks on seed saving, organic heirloom tomato growing strategies in the bay area, and cooking and canning your own tomato sauces. You will be also able to get advise on various aspects of sustainable living. There are also beautiful hiking trails in the open space directly above the winery!
The event will be held outdoors in the beautiful Bay Area peninsula open space preserve location. Admission is $25 online, till the 31st of August, $32 thereafter, and $40 at the door so get your tickets early! Online ticket sales end on 23rd of September.
