Edible Throws Another Drinkable Bash Sure to Raise Your Spirits

The second installation of Good Spirits, Edible’s experiment in liquid symbiosis, will happen on Tuesday, April 6, at The Bell House. With happy memories of the inaugural Good Spirits still dancing in our heads, we’re heading East, across the River, to match seven Brooklyn chefs with seven spectacular spirits, and can’t wait to visit with the cast of distillers and bartenders, farmers and chefs that you won’t find anywhere else.

Despite the outer borough digs, the deal remains the same: Mixology-minded chefs cook up perfect pairings for cocktails made with storied spirits.

As guests explore the cavernous converted warehouse in the Gowanus section of Park Slope—with 25-foot wooden arched ceilings and a 450-square foot stage—we'll be pouring Empire State favorites like Tuthilltown Spirits and Warwick Valley Winery and Distillery, as well as Good Spirits veteran Rhum J.M., in addition to small batch selections from Death’s Door, Compass Box, Vertical Vodka, Chartreuse and Illegal Mexcal.

The Vanderbilt, No. 7, Fette Sau, Walter Foods, Mile End, Fort Defiance, The Farm on Adderley and Palo Santo are conceiving the food.

Here are the latest pairings.

The Vanderbilt’s kitchen will resonate with the flavors of Rhum J.M., No. 7 will birth a complement to Chartreuse, and Fort Defiance will serve alongside a cocktail mixed with Warwick Valley Vineyard and Distillery’s American Fruits and Brandies. Edible Manhattan contributor, and Fort Defiance proprietor, St. John Frizell, will hold court, providing online previews, written cocktail commentary and bite-by-sip commentary for the lucky attendees who will be able to warm their cockles sevenfold.

Fette Sau will rock with Tuthilltown Spirits. Farm on Adderly will blend with Vertical Vodka. Walter Foods will step up to Death’s Door. And Palo Santo will samba with Illegal Mexcal. Mile End will pass some scrumptious snacks. And, to round out the experience with cocktail-inspired sweets, Tumbador Chocolates will meld with Compass Box.

This event will sell out, so get your tickets now. Tickets are just $40 for an evening of food, drink and merriment. (Enter the code "cocktail" and we'll include a one-year subscription to Edible Manhattan or Edible Brooklyn for free.)
