Casino Nights Zone is a two-day convention for fans of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, though gamers of all ages and interests, as well as their families, are more than welcome to attend. The event is to be held in Las Vegas in Summer 2015; the current dates are speculative and final dates will come in the coming weeks. Casino Nights is being organized with the same ideas as Sonic Boom, Summer of Sonic, Sonic Revolution and Weston Super Sonic: a place where all Sonic fans can gather and have hours (or days, in our case) of fun about their favorite blue hedgehog!
Venue and Hotel Details
Several venue locations have been selected, ranging in size from 600 to 1500 attendees. Ticket sales by June 2015 will determine the venue chosen, but currently the prime venue of choice is the 5th Street School near historic Fremont Street. The number of ticket sales will determine how many hotel rooms we book under our group code, which will secure attendees a low hotel rate.
Event Details
The event is being formally sponsored by Dreamerch, a small video game merchandise retailer, but the event itself is run on a not-for-profit basis; any proceeds from the event will be going towards increasing the amount of activities available to attendees. The event is divided into the first day, Act I, which is themed around the villains, and Act II, which is themed around the heroes. Contests and activities shall be held on both days and will be tailored to these themes: for example, the costume contest for Act I is for those cosplaying a villain (Dr. Eggman, Metal Sonic, etc.) and Act II for those cosplaying a hero (Sonic, Tails, etc.).
A 20-hour event is going to require lots of funding to ensure that there's lots for attendees to do; every ticket purchased from us will make this possible. Money raised from tickets will go towards paying for the event space as well as all the activities we have planned. Activities available at the venue will include:
And more! Special guests will be announced as they are confirmed to be
attending.
Tickets and Attendance
Guests will be welcome to come and go as they please from
the venue, and all attendees will receive goodie bags; goodie bags can only be collected the day a ticket is for. There will be different bags for both days. For attendees with a 2-Day Pass, bags must be picked up separately on Day 1 and Day 2; Day 1 bags cannot be picked up on Day 2 and vice versa. All attendees will
receive an event program detailing other activities in the venue area such as
restaurants. Attendees are encouraged to print out their tickets and bring them to the event; we will not have scanners and so must process every ticket manually by checking your unique name/number off a list. All attendees who wish to enter raffles must bring their ticket; a ticket will be marked so as to prevent double entries. All regular attendees receive one complementary entry into each raffle but may buy extra entries.
We will be selling one day passes for 20 dollars (plus fees
and taxes) each, or a two-day passes for 35 dollars (plus fees and taxes). That's
for 20 hours of event access, not to mention all the glamor of Vegas that comes
with it! Don't be afraid to spread the word to friends and family: the more tickets
that are sold, the larger the venue that is purchased and the more fun and
activities for Sonic fans all around the world there is to enjoy. You know what
they say, the more the merrier!
We hope you will join us in Las Vegas for the world's first formal
two-day Sonic convention! This event is not sponsored by or affiliated with SEGA
or any of its subsidiaries and is an independent undertaking. Every person who buys a ticket or otherwise contributes makes this event possible, and we encourage all contributors and attendees to take pride in this fact.
