Part 1 - Expedition to the Summit: Risk Planning and Management for Enterprise Drupal Projects

Time: 9am-12pm

30%-70% of all software projects fail according to the annual Chaos Report. If you are planning enterprise web projects, this workshop will prepare you in order to avoid common planning and execution errors.

Transparent, clear and frequent communication between developer and client is crucial to a successful enterprise web project. However, too often the wants and needs from both parties get lost and neither side can negotiate the best path to success.

This workshop will cover:

·       PLANNING AN EXPEDITION: requirements and mandates

·       SETTING A COURSE: roadmap for project outcomes

·       BUILDING THE TEAM: leaders and sherpas

·       CONTINGENCY PLANNING: managing risk & triage strategies

·       BASECAMP: final assembly

·       SCALING THE SUMMIT: execution and pitfalls

In this collaborative workshop you’ll learn the common pitfalls surrounding planning, risk management and execution of web projects. We’ll cover how to prepare client and development teams for the project in order to create a successful outcome with reduced risk and less team burnout.

Part 2 - Client Wrangling

Time: 1pm-4pm

When it comes to enterprising, it’s often found that there’s a grey area of communication between what a client wants or needs and what a development firm is able to deliver. Client wrangling accelerates discovery and development by smoothing out the client-side relationship first.

By working with the client before the development company arrives, the confusion and stress is dissipated out of the project and the development team can work with hardcore programming issues. The complex client-side relationship can burn valuable time and energy for the duration of the project. Clarifying issues, concerns and roadblocks early in the process creates the opportunity for a more successful web project and happier customers and developers.

Client Wrangling™ ensures quality firms will consider your project seriously and return high-quality bids that are meaningful and a true apples-to-apple comparison. This is a big success for the client AND development company.
