'FOODIE SCHOOL' LESSON #3: SURF & TURF



They say "The third time's the charm"... well, we've made it to LESSON #3: SURF & TURF.  We are extremely excited to be holding this event at Splash! An Ocean Grill in Lutz.  They have a beautiful accommodating space awaiting us and a Chef who is ready to pull out all the stops.

A little bit about Executive Chef Stephan Guerin:

Splash! An Ocean Grill's Executive Chef Stephan Guerin began his culinary journey at the age of 14, working in his grandmothers' restaurant "The Copper Door" in Massachusetts. His Grandmother was a well known chef throughout Massachusetts. Upon graduating high school, Chef Stephan’s Grandmother asked him which culinary school he would like to attend. His choice was E'cole De Cuisine Lavarenne in Paris, France. Upon Culinary school graduation, Chef Stephan spent 6 months on an internship in Florence, Italy. After a 6 year military commitment, he returned to the U.S., then travelled to New York City to work for a variety of well known Chef's Including Tom Collichio (Host of TV's Top Chef) at Restaurant "Gramercy Tavern". In 1997, Chef Stephan returned to his hometown to open his own Restaurant "The Captains Inn" After 5 years of success, he decided to bring his culinary skills to Tampa, Florida. In August 2007, he joined the culinary team at Splash! An Ocean Grill. With him, he brought his passion for homemade, well seasoned food, using the freshest ingredients available. Chef Stephan and the rest of the Splash! staff hopes you enjoy your visit to Splash! and return often to sample the many culinary delights that he creates on a weekly basis for your enjoyment.

The delightful dissertation and delectable dishes that will be featured will consist of the following:

  • Amuse Bouche Course - Phyllo and Smoked Salmon
  • Salad Course - Strawberry Fields Forever
  • Entree Course - Steak Diane
  • Dessert Course - Crepes Suzette

In addition to drink specials for our group, Terroir Wine Cellars has graciously donated samples of 'Palarea', their Spanish Cabernet/Merlot/Syrah blend for all of us to sample during our entree course.
