Building China's Urban Future

The National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP-SF) in collaboration with the Asia Society of Northern California, The Project Management Institute SFBAC, and the Asian Commercial Professionals are proud to host an evening of networking and presentations with distinguished professionals who are playing major roles in the shaping of China’s urban growth. The issues of sustainable development and cross border opportunities between China and the U.S. will be focal points of discussion. Hors ' doeuvres and refreshments will be served

China is currently undergoing one of the largest building booms in history in its dramatic transformation to become a global superpower. In 2010, China had surpassed the United States as the largest construction market and will account for one-fifth of the world's building industry by 2020. The new cities under construction will host millions of new jobs and lives for China’s projected urban population of 1.3 billion by 2030.

Within the next decade China's building market is expected to become a $2.5 trillion industry that will create new market opportunities for construction, real estate investments, and emergent technology applications. However, the more urgent matter at hand is how we can sustainably achieve the immense opportunities for urban growth without compromising the environmental, social, and economic needs of tomorrow.

In collaboration with the Project Management Institute SFBAC, the Asia Society of Northern California, and the Asian Commercial Professionals. Co-Sponsored by the Chinese Cultural Center of San Francisco, U.S. Green Building Council Northern California Chapter, California-Asia Business Council, China-SF, Corporate Asian American Employee Network, and the Bay Area Council.
