This year the fifth annual Safe Kids Georgia awards breakfast will be Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, in the beautiful ballroom of the Twelve Hotel, Atlantic Station. "Simple Solutions, Safer Communities" will pay special tribute to community leaders who have become Georgia legacies as a result of their initiatives and leadership efforts.
The breakfast, co-hosted by Christi Paul, CNN and Lori Geary, WSB TV, will include David Strickland, Administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Dr. Ileana Arias, Deputy director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and Kate Carr, President and CEO of Safe Kids Worldwide, award winners and remarks from a pediatric injury survivor. The breakfast will welcome more than 300 of Atlanta's corporate, governmental and media dignitaries celebrating the essential work provided by law enforcement, hospitals and fire and emergency services. It is vital to know that 83 percent of funds raised will go toward programming.
Music will be provided by the students of Franklin Pond Chamber Music.
