The Chinese Martial Arts Expo – New England (CMAX-NE) is one of the premiere non-competitive educational events in the northeastern United States.
CMAX-NE 2008 brings together Grandmasters, Masters, and senior-level instructors from a wide range of Chinese martial arts styles - all in one fantastic event. Shi Er Xing Dong XingYi Quan - 12 Animal Form and Will Form
Grand Master Hu Jianqiang is one of China's top wushu artists. Master Hu began full-time wushu training at the age of ten when he was accepted into the Zhejiang Wushu Institute. After completing eight years of full-time training, Hu Jianqiang joined the China National Team and, over the next few years, traveled to over 30 countries participating in international wushu meets. China's two-time all-around wushu champion, Hu Jianqiang is also known internationally from his film and television work, including leading roles in more than fifteen gongfu (kungfu) movies including Shaolin Temple, Shaolin South and North, Yellow River Fighter, Drunken Master III and Sonny Chiba's Shogun's Shadow.

Master Li is a former member of the Zhejiang Province Wushu Team and was Chinese National Champion in Southern Fist in 2002. He is currently the head instructor at the Shaolin Wushu Center, CT.

Dr. Steven J. Pearlman is the author of The Book of Martial Power, now published in two languages, as well as two DVDs on open-handed combatives. Dr. Pearlman’s expertise centers on universal principles of martial effectiveness, principles that can deepen the exploration and effectiveness of any style by explaining the forces that optimize its techniques. His teaching goals are to help students gain insight into the power of their own arts, as well as understand how the real forces at work transcend style, national origin, and type of technique.

Grandmaster Wang, founder of International Dachengdao Kungfu, holds the rank of gold sash in Chinese Wushu. He studied under and is the successor to the well-known Wang Xuanjie, the second generation grandmaster of Dachengquan. Wang Rengang is also the fifth generation successor of Hao Tai Chi Mei Hua Mantis Fist (northern praying mantis). He learned northern praying mantis first from Wang Yue and then from Yue's teacher, Hao Wei Zhi, the fourth generation successor of the northern mantis system. Wang Rengang has participated in and won numerous gold medals in martial arts tournaments worldwide.

Daoist monk Xuan Yun (Little Cloud) grew up in a temple on Wudang Mountain, China where he was a student and later an instructor of Taiji and Kung Fu. At the age of 20, Xuan Yun left the monastery and traveled alone around around China for four years. Seeking out other martial arts masters, he practiced what he had been taught and learned many new skills. For the past two years, Xuan Yun has been settled in Dali City where he dedicates himself to sharing the martial arts he loves. With over ten years of teaching experience, he has taught students of all ages and from over 25 different countries.

Feng Mo Gun - Crazy Devil Staff
Master Latecki has been practicing martial arts for over 27 years, winning several all-around Championship titles and taking thirty-four gold medals in national and international competitions in Europe and the U.S. He was one of the first certified instructors in Europe , testing and ranking students and instructors in the International YMAA training system. He immigrated to the U. S. in 1993, obtaining a working visa due to his martial arts skills. He taught as head instructor at Yang’s Martial Arts HQ in Boston. He is also the chairman of the International Wushu Sanshou Dao Association. He holds a seventh level black belt Ji Duan and a fourth degree master level. Recently he has been nominated and selected to be included in this historic publication: “Extraordinary Martial Artists of the World”. To refine and expand his skills, he has traveled to China and Tibet learning from the prominent masters. Yang Jwingming, Liang Shouyu and Ma Xianda are among the masters with which he has studied.

Master Teasley's journey into the world of traditional healing began at the age of 4. At the age of 10, he began his study of traditional martial arts. After University, he continued his studies of traditional healing and traditional martial arts abroad. His training has taken him to places such as Wahpeton Dakota Sioux Reservation in Saskatchewan, Canada, to Hong Kong, Shanghai, and the famous Wu Dang Mountain of Central China, birthplace of Taoism and Chinese Traditional Medicine.

Grandmaster Aiping Cheng is one of the only martial artists in the U.S. selected to compete in the highest level world competitions in both Tai Chi and Wushu Kung Fu. She was selected for the most outstanding team in the world – the Chinese National Wushu Team – six times. She is one of the most accomplished Tai Chi experts in the world. She is a three time gold medal winner in the highest level competitions in the world. In 1974, Grandmaster Cheng was selected (along with Jet Li) to the famous athlete delegation that demonstrated at the White House for the President of the United States. She has performed these ancient Chinese arts for world leaders in 16 countries. In 1999 she was rated at the highest world skill level. Grandmaster Aiping Cheng has been called “the Tai Chi Diamond…a Chinese Treasure in Connecticut.”

Open to anyone 12 years old or older with some experience in the martial arts, CMAX-NE 2008 offers something for everyone. Whether you chose from internal or external forms, hand forms or weapon forms, you simply can not make a bad decision.
Note:Please wear appropriate training clothing & shoes. You may bring your own equipment for the Staff & Sword seminars. We will have staffs, swords, shoes, and other items for sale at the event.
